Alphadog, the electronic music project of DJ and producer Tom Shoval, has returned to Diynamic Music with his latest three-track release, Rockstar EP, out September 4.
Shoval first entered the scene in 2005 as part of the psychedelic trance duo Insomnia before launching Alphadog in 2019. Since then, he has built a sound that blends melodic techno, Afro house, and progressive influences.
His rise has included releases on Kinetika Music and Maccabi House, along with his Tarantela EP on Diynamic. In 2023, he was also selected as one of Tomorrowland’s Future Four rising artists.
‘Rockstar’ Kicks Things Off
The new EP wastes no time making an impression with ‘Rockstar’.
The track comes in with a bold, energetic attitude. Its cheeky character gives the production plenty of personality, while the driving groove keeps the momentum moving forward.
It is loud without becoming overwhelming. Instead, Alphadog keeps the production focused and direct.
The result is an opener that immediately sets the tone for the EP.
‘Boogie Up’ Keeps Things Moving
The second track, ‘Boogie Up’, features MELODIC and takes the release in a more playful direction.
Bouncy rhythms and shifting riffs give the track a loose, carefree feel. It is the kind of production that feels designed for movement, with plenty of groove packed into its arrangement.
The collaboration adds another layer to the EP without taking it too far from Alphadog’s sound.
‘Stay Close to Me’ Changes the Mood
Closing the EP is ‘Stay Close to Me’, which takes a much softer approach.
The track slows the pace down with hazy production and warm, sun-soaked textures. Wandering guitar riffs give it an almost nostalgic quality, creating a noticeable contrast with the energy of the opening track.
It feels like the perfect comedown after the first two songs. Instead of ending with another big moment, Alphadog lets the EP drift away.
A Strong New Chapter
With Rockstar EP, Alphadog continues to show the range behind his project. The three tracks move between high-energy club moments and warmer, more atmospheric territory without losing their groove.
It is another strong addition to his growing catalog on Diynamic Music, and one that highlights why his sound continues to attract attention from some of the biggest names in electronic music.
