If anyone had “Sexyy Red jumping on a latin house banger” on their 2026 dance music bingo card, go ahead and collect your prize.
HUGEL has been running the scene on absolute god mode lately, and he clearly has no plans of hitting the brakes. Fresh off his debut LP Twenty One conquering the #1 and #2 most shazamed songs across the entire planet with ‘Movin’ to the Sun’ and ‘Jamaican (Bam Bam)’ – the French powerhouse just hit us with a wild , infectious curveball titled ‘Bad Bitch.‘
Teaming up with St. Louis rap royalty Sexyy Red and rising house star Gatano, HUGEL’s latest drop via his own Make The Girl Dance Records serves as the second big teaser for the upcoming deluxe edition of Twenty One, slated to land on October 16th.
On paper, tossing Sexyy Red’s raw, unfiltered Southern hip-hop swagger directly into a syncopated Latin groove sounds like caotic mad-science. On the dance floor, it’s pure lighning in a bottle. HUGEL constructs a buoyant, percussive rythm with an off-kilter swing that instantly grabs you by the collar. Gatano-the fresh house alias from multi-platinum Canadian veteran Julian Dzeko-polishes the production to a razor-sharp edge, craving out just enough breathing room for Sexyy Red’s infectious charisma and unapoligetic punchlines to completely dominate the mix. It isn’t trying to be overly serious or pretentious: it is built purely to get bodies moving and sweat dripping at 3 AM.
This release caps off a ridiculous stretch for HUGEL. Between landing on the cover of DJ Mag’s Ibiza issue, commanding crowds at his Hi Ibiza residency, running the tables in Vegas at XS and Encore Beach Club, and joining David Guetta on stage at the massive Stade de France, he has effectively become inescapable this festival season.
HUGEL already proved he could bridge club culture with rap heavyweights like Snoop Dogg, Big Sean, and French Montana on the standard album cut, but ‘Bad Bitch’ feels distinctly grittier, bolder, and geared for high-energy sets well into the fall.
If this single is any preview of the unreleased heat waiting on the deluxe cut come October, the rest of the electronic world is going to have a hard time catching up. Keep this one loaded in your party playlists immediately.
