Funk Tribu has launched a new compilation series called ‘Rituals‘ on his label TRIBE, with the first volume out today, September 18th, across all streaming platforms. ‘Rituals Vol. 1’ brings together four artists per edition, a format the label plans to run as a recurring release series going forward.
TRIBE has positioned itself as more than a label since launching in 2025. Between club nights in Bogota, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, and screenings in Berlin, the project has built out a community-driven ecosystem around Funk Tribu’s music and the artists orbiting his sets. That world is reflected in the ‘Rituals’ artwork itself, which incorporates a unique handprint from each contributing artist as a nod to their individual ties to the label.
Each artist on the compilation has their own backstory with Funk Tribu. He first caught Afem Syko DJing at a party in Bogota years ago, and the two later reconnected in Berlin, where Afem passed along demos that eventually led to his track ‘KINETYKA.’ “Polish for kinetics, describes the energy an object carries through motion. The track is built around this idea of force and movement,” Afem Syko says.
Supergloss became a regular at TRIBE events after Funk Tribu caught her set in Serbia, and her contribution reflects that connection to the dancefloor. “This track attempts to capture the feeling of not wanting to leave the dance floor, because even after hours, your body is craving one last euphoria,” she says.
Vall Du Son’s relationship with the label dates back to ADE in 2024, where he first crossed paths with Funk Tribu before becoming a fixture in his sets. “I stopped thinking about where I should fit and followed whatever felt exciting to me,” he says of his process on the track.
HANAA is the newest name in the mix, discovered after Funk Tribu went digging for fresh music for a set and she sent over demos. One of those, ‘Looking For My Tribe,’ made the final cut. “It’s about searching for those rare people you instantly connect with, the ones who make you feel like you’re on the same frequency without having to explain yourself,” she says.
“What I like about the compilation is that there wasn’t one specific way these tracks came together,” Funk Tribu says. “Each artist and track has its own story and connection to me, but somehow they all ended up fitting into the same ritual.”
About TRIBE
TRIBE launched in 2025 as a label and collective centered on music as community, built for emotionally driven, identity-rooted club sounds paired with a distinct visual identity. Early releases including ‘Azul’ and ‘Hold On,’ alongside output from rising names like Afem Syko, Linds and BK, helped the project grow into something bigger than a typical label rollout. Funk Tribu’s stature back home in Colombia was underscored by two sold-out nights at Bogota’s Coliseo MedPlus, drawing more than twenty thousand people, just days after the city council awarded him the Nota de Estilo in recognition of his contribution to Colombian electronic music culture.
‘Rituals Vol. 1’ is available now on TRIBE via all streaming platforms.
