Pacha New York is still cooking. On a clear September Friday the open-air Brooklyn space turned into something special when ZHU and Wax Motif locked in for a sold out night night of dark, groovy, and unapologetically seductive house.
Wax Motif
Wax Motif came through with that signature House of Wax swagger—bouncy, funky, and laced with just enough edge to keep things interesting. He leaned into the grooves that made him a favorite in the first place: those rolling basslines, cheeky vocal chops, and tracks that make you move to each beat.
ZHU
Then ZHU took over and the temperature dropped in the best possible way. That signature shadowy, cinematic deep house sound filled every corner of the space. Moody pads, those unmistakable vocal textures, and drops that hit with weight instead of just volume. The set felt like a continuous late-night drive through neon and shadows. Classics landed hard—‘Faded,’ ‘Working For It,’ ‘In the Morning,’ and ‘Cocaine Model’ all got the full-room treatment—while newer material from the BLACK MIDAS era and the collab ‘Better Recognize’ (with Wax Motif) sat right in the pocket. ZHU also brought out dancers who really elevated the whole vibe of the performance throughout the night. Ty Dolla $ign also made special appearances throughout the night which got everyone hyped.
The Closing B3B
Right near the end the night flipped into something even better. ZHU, Wax Motif, and TOBEHONEST jumped into a proper b3b that stretched the final stretch into a fun moment. The three of them traded off —deep, rolling house from ZHU, bouncy house heat from Wax, and tobehonest sliding in with those sharp, peak-time cuts that kept the floor from cooling off for even a second. It felt loose, fun, and completely locked in.
