TORONTO — Australian live electronic icons RÜFÜS DU SOL capped off their historic 2026 North American Inhale / Exhale World Tour with a stadium-sized finale at the Rogers Centre with 43,000 people taking in a special performance for what is their last show on tour. The 2026 tour marked RÜFÜS DU SOL’s most ambitious production to date. Kicking off earlier in the summer, the run spanned stadiums, major amphitheatres, and festival grounds across North America, including high-profile stops at Folsom Field in Boulder, Atlantic City Beach, and a headlining slot at Bonnaroo.
Toronto has long served as a stronghold for the band playing at smaller venues. They announced during the show that they started coming to Toronto in 2014 playing at a small venue to a few hundred people (the Wrongbar), a venue that no longer exists. Eventually as they gained popularity they kept playing at larger venues, in 2023 they sold out the budweiser stage (currently RBC amphitheatre) which roughly holds 16,000 attendees. In 2025 they played two sold out shows at the Budweiser Stage. Playing from intimate dance floors to the largest venue in Toronto proves their rise in global popularity, a monumental career-defining milestone. As Rogers Centre in Toronto is the largest venue in Toronto frequently hosting massive shows.
The trio, which consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Tyrone Lindqvist, keyboards and backing percussion Jon George, and drums and live electronic pads James Hunt. Bringing a live electronic show into a massive venue like Rogers Centre is no easy task, but RÜFÜS DU SOL pulled it off effortlessly. The drummer James Hunt posted a heartfelt message about how he felt overwhelmed with emotions.
Adding an extra layer of emotion to the Toronto performance was the realization that shows like this won’t be happening again anytime soon. The group recently confirmed that they plan to take an extended hiatus from touring to retreat to the studio and begin work on their next studio album.
