Cafe Mambo is turning a rare astronomical event into a party. Ibiza’s longtime sunset institution has announced a special edition of its terrace series timed to a total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, with totality over the Balearic Islands expected between roughly 8:26 PM and 8:32 PM local time. The event doubles as the official pre-party for Our House at Hi Ibiza, with Meduza3 handling the soundtrack.

The eclipse will align with sunset over the Mediterranean, meaning day will briefly turn to night right as Cafe Mambo’s crowd is settled in for its usual golden-hour ritual. The venue has spent more than three decades building a reputation as the island’s go-to sunset spot, thanks to its unobstructed sea views along Ibiza’s west coast. Organizers are billing it as a once-in-a-generation overlap of natural phenomenon and dance floor.

Meduza3, the Italian trio behind ‘Piece of Your Heart,’ ‘Lose Control,’ ‘Paradise,’ and ‘Tell It to My Heart,’ will provide the music for the pre-party. The group has racked up more than 20 billion streams across their catalog and picked up a GRAMMY nomination along the way, establishing themselves as the most-streamed Italian dance act globally. Their live resume includes headline slots at EDC and Tomorrowland, among other major festival stages.

Cafe Mambo has functioned as ground zero for Ibiza’s pre-party culture for years, with a nightly terrace lineup that has included Carl Cox, Swedish House Mafia, and Pete Tong alongside newer names working their way up the island’s DJ hierarchy. The eclipse event slots into that same tradition, just with considerably rarer timing.

The pairing of a total solar eclipse with one of Ibiza’s most recognizable sunset venues gives the August 12 date a built-in hook beyond the usual pre-party circuit. Whether the sky delivers on schedule or not, Meduza3 is set to keep the terrace moving as Our House at Hi Ibiza picks up later that night.
