French Producer and DJ ROXIE is quickly establishing herself in the Electronic Music scene with her high-energy Electro House sound. Entirely self-taught, she takes a multi-disciplinary approach: from managing production and songwriting to delivering her own vocals. Having already brought her peak-time energy to stages like Tomorrowland Winter and Les Plages Électroniques, her latest single, ‘Turn It Up,’ channels that same dancefloor intensity into a high-impact production: showcasing ROXIE’s artistic direction and continued evolution within Electronic Music.

Today, we sit down with ROXIE to explore the creative process behind the track and discuss how she continues to shape her artistic identity, keeping passion, curiosity, and instinct at its core.

Hey ROXIE! How are you?

Hi! I’m doing great, thanks for having me!

“Turn It Up” captures a high-energy, festival-ready sound. What was the original idea that sparked the track, and how did it evolve throughout the creative process?

It all started with the small looping melody at the beginning of the track. As soon as I played those notes, I knew they had something special. The rest of the production flowed very naturally. Every new element was built around that initial loop until “Turn It Up” became the high-energy festival track I had imagined.

You take a hands-on approach to every stage of your music, from production and mastering to lyric writing. What do you enjoy most about having complete creative control?

I love being involved in every part of the creative process because I enjoy creating in every possible way.

From producing and writing lyrics to recording vocals and developing the visual side of my project, I like bringing my ideas to life from start to finish. It allows me to build a world that truly reflects who I am as an artist. That said, mastering isn’t my strongest skill, and when I’m releasing a track on streaming platforms, I prefer to leave that part to professionals. For me, knowing when to collaborate is just as important as knowing how to create.

The release is inspired by the golden era of EDM. What is it about that period of dance music that continues to resonate with you as an artist today?

That period means a lot to me because it’s when I discovered electronic music through my very first club nights and festivals.

Those experiences made me fall in love with EDM, the energy, the melodies, and the incredible feeling of thousands of people sharing the same moment. Even though the term “EDM” isn’t used as much today, that spirit has never left me. It’s still the music that inspires me the most, and it’s exactly the feeling I try to recreate in my own productions.

What do you hope people are feeling when they hear the track for the first time on a dancefloor?

I hope that when people hear the track for the first time, they instantly want to hear it again.

I want them to feel the energy, jump, dance, and then think, “Play it one more time!” To me, that’s the best compliment a track can receive, when one listen isn’t enough and people want to experience that feeling all over again.

As both a Producer and active DJ, how do your experiences behind the decks influence the music you create in the studio?

At the beginning, I was making music that could appeal to as many people as possible; my mindset changed as I gained more experience behind the decks. Today, I only want to create tracks that I genuinely enjoy playing in my own DJ sets. I know I’m on the right path if I’m excited to play a track live, and then it also gets the crowd moving.

When producing a record like ‘Turn It Up,’ what elements do you focus on to ensure it connects with listeners on a festival stage as well as through streaming platforms?

For me, it’s all about creating a track that people can experience in different ways.

On a festival stage, I want people to jump, sing, and share the moment together. On streaming platforms, I want them to replay it because the melody stays in their head. That’s always my goal when I’m producing.

Looking back at the first draft, what changed the most between the initial version of the track and the final release?

The biggest changes were actually quite simple but made a huge difference.

I increased the tempo from 130 to 135 BPM, which instantly gave the track more energy. I also chose a punchier kick to make the drop hit harder. Those two changes completely transformed the feeling of the track and made it much closer to the festival sound I was aiming for.

Your sound blends powerful drops, uplifting melodies, and strong vocal moments. How would you describe the signature qualities that define a Roxie production?

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve fully found my signature sound yet, and I’m okay with that.

I’m still exploring, learning, and evolving with every release. What stays the same, though, is my love for energetic festival music, memorable melodies, and vocals that people can sing along to. I hope that over time, those elements will naturally grow into a signature sound that people instantly recognize as ROXIE.

With ‘Turn It Up’ now out in the world and a busy summer of performances ahead, what are your main goals for this next chapter of your journey?

This next chapter is a huge turning point for me.

Until recently, I had a full-time job alongside my music career, but as that chapter ended, I decided to dedicate myself 100% to music. It’s a big challenge, but it’s also an opportunity I’ve been waiting for. I’m ready to give everything I have to make this dream a reality by creating more music, playing more shows, growing as an artist, and connecting with more people through what I do.

With ‘Turn It Up’ out now and a busy festival schedule ahead, ROXIE is entering a transformative era fueled by absolute commitment to her craft. By taking creative ownership of her vision, she continues to refine her signature sound while expanding her footprint across the global Electronic Music landscape. As this next chapter unfolds with incoming music and fresh live performances, her artistic momentum is growing. So, be sure to keep up with ROXIE across social media to stay updated on her latest projects, releases, and upcoming summer tour dates.
