Less than one month after the release of their latest album, Withness, (which already received millions of plays on Spotify), ANOTR dropped yet another widely anticipated record. In an uncommon step outside of their own imprint, No Art, the duo instead chose to partner with CircoLoco Records for the release. American singer, Emily Warren, known for her previous work with artists including Kygo, Zedd and The Chainsmokers, provides vocals for the track. ANOTR ‘Silver Lines’ is out now on CircoLoco Records.
‘Silver Lines’ opens with a relaxed groove and gentle vocal blended into upbeat synths and instruments. The releases of energy match the lyrics, creating a sense of letting go and moving forward. Throughout the record, the singer casually accepts her fate; silver lines of tears are no longer needed. The resigned lyrics offset the track’s harmonious, sunny vibe, creating a lingering atmosphere of melancholy and nostalgia that permeates throughout. Emotional notes, a catchy chorus and overall pleasant melody make ‘Silver Lines’ equally appropriate for joyous festival moments and chill daytime drives by the beach.
ANOTR’s summer schedule sees the Dutch duo performing shows across the UK and Europe, with appearances at their own No Art takeovers and festivals, plus Ibiza and Mykonos clubs and a two-night run at London’s Alexandra Palace. A full list of shows appears on their website.
