It’s been a while since we’ve had some genuine beef in the dance music community, but this latest one is a doozy. Early this morning, John Summit took to X to call out none other than Pete Tong for reportedly stealing a remix he made. You may remember the remix John Summit has been playing of Everything But The Girl’s ‘Missing‘. Well, it turns out that was a John Summit remix that he had been working on with Pete Tong.

According to John, Pete was going to get a collaboration credit even though Pete did not really contribute to the production. Now, apparently, the very same remix was set to be released as a Pete Tong and Franky Rizardo collaboration. Understandably, John Summit is none too pleased to see this turn of events.

Here’s John playing the track at Space in 2025.

He brought the receipts, as you can see from the X post. On top of that, he’s set to premiere a special orchestral edit of the track.

The last thing he added was that he spoke to Franky Rizardo, who apparently knew nothing about the situation. So far, no response from Pete Tong’s camp, but we’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: Franky Rizardo pulls the release
