Getting concert tickets has become increasingly difficult for music fans. Long queues, instant sellouts, and rising resale prices often leave dedicated listeners empty-handed. Now, Spotify wants to make the process a little easier.
The streaming giant recently announced Reserved, a new feature designed to help artists connect concert tickets directly with their biggest fans.
How Spotify Reserved Works
Starting in the United States this summer, select artists will be able to reserve tickets for Spotify Premium subscribers. The feature comes through a new partnership with Live Nation.
Spotify plans to use streaming habits, shares, and fan engagement to identify an artist’s most loyal listeners. Fans chosen through Reserved will receive access to purchase up to two tickets during a 24-hour purchase window.
Spotify explained the goal behind the program in a public statement.
“Getting concert tickets today can feel like a race you’re set up to lose,” the company shared. “Too often, the experience is stressful and unpredictable.”
While the company did not reveal participating artists, the announcement immediately sparked interest across the music industry.
A Move Toward Rewarding Real Fans
Reserved reflects a growing industry focus on superfans. Music platforms and artists continue searching for better ways to reward loyal listeners with exclusive experiences and early access opportunities.
Although Reserved may not completely eliminate scalpers or ticket shortages, it could help genuine fans secure seats more easily.
For many concertgoers, that alone feels like a step in the right direction.
More Spotify Features Announced
Spotify also revealed several other updates during its investor day presentation.
One of the biggest announcements was Studio by Spotify Labs, a standalone desktop app that allows users to create personalized playlists, podcasts, and curated content.
In addition, Spotify and Universal Music Group announced a new licensing agreement that will allow fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes using select participating artists.
As live music demand continues to grow, Reserved could become one of Spotify’s most interesting fan-focused features yet.
