North London house titans Gorgon City and legendary drum & bass duo Chase & Status are set to headline back-to-back nights at Brooklyn’s Industry City this Memorial Day Weekend. The inaugural Why Not Now? Festival transforms the raw industrial landscape into an electronic music celebration spanning May 23-24, 2026.
This marks the launch of what organizers are calling a boutique-style festival focused on showcasing the evolution of modern electronic music. EMW Presents is positioning the event as both a celebration and mission statement, encouraging attendees to experience the future of music in the present moment.
The festival kicks off a series of massive events throughout the summer, including The Martinez Brothers on June 13, Odd Mob on July 3, and Anjunadeep on July 18 at Central Park’s SummerStage. Later dates include Sammy Viriji at Brooklyn Army Terminal pier from July 31-August 1, marking the third installment in a series that previously featured Chris Lake x Black Book Records in 2024 and Mochakk Calling: NYC in 2025. The series concludes with Experts Only on September 19-20.
Global Meets Local Lineup
The 2026 lineup spans two main stages with what organizers describe as “a prestigious mosaic of global visionaries and local pioneers.” Saturday, May 23 features Gorgon City alongside Italian tech-house sensation GENESI, NYC underground staple Linska, rising star TOBEHONEST, and genre-blurring artist Dreya V.
Sunday’s lineup centers around Chase & Status, with the North American debut of Joy (Anonymous) performing back-to-back with MPH. UK garage pioneer Flava D and Toronto-born experimentalist Bambii round out the second day’s programming.
The festival concept emphasizes open-air courtyards and what organizers call “vibrant in-the-moment sound” designed to foster creative energy. “Innovation isn’t an idea here; it’s an experience,” according to the festival vision statement. “Why Not Now? is where tomorrow comes alive.”
All ticket options are currently available, including general admission and VIP passes for both two-day and single-day experiences. VIP packages include expedited entry, premium air-conditioned restrooms, and VIP lounge access with a premium cash bar. The event is restricted to ages 21 and older.
EMW Presents, the New York-based production firm behind the festival, has partnered with Brooklyn’s ZERO Productions for the inaugural event. ZERO Productions brings experience from City of Gods, the East Coast’s premier Halloween festival, and Berlin Beyond, their showcase of Berlin’s underground electronic music culture.
