The legendary Progressive brand Global Underground is officially firing up the tour bus and heading down under this June, bringing four absolute legends of the electronic music scene to Australia, for what may just be one of the most stacked lineups of the year if we talk about this corner of Dance music.
The leaders of the GU compilation series have assembled a dream team featuring Sasha, Danny Howells, James Zabiela, and Anthony Pappa for three massive shows across Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. In partnership with TMRW Music, this tour marks a major return for the Global Underground brand to Australian soil.
The tour kicks off on June 5th at Melbourne’s iconic Northcote Social Club, a place active since 1894. The day after brings an all-day affair at Brisbane’s Eclipse, leading up to Sunday’s show in Sydney, at Selina’s in Coogee Bay, a favourite among DJs and live acts for over five decades.
A Lineup for the Ages
Leading the charge is Sasha, the — legendary — Welsh electronic music icon whose. Pivotal moments of music as a whole came from his contributions, including GU009: San Francisco and GU013: Ibiza, not to mention his game-changing LPs. Not lesser by any means, Danny Howells also prepares his suitcase, with his signature deep, rolling sounds. Nubreed 002, 24:7, and GU027 Miami are all albums he himself has engraved in the history of Global Underground.
James Zabiela and Melbourne’s own Anthony Pappa make up the second half of one of the most powerful lineups of the last few months. Two artists who have contributed tremendously not only to GU but to the entirety of the Progressive scene. It’s only fitting that they complete the team of the fantastic four.
