Sammy Virji has been on fire since dropping his sophomore album Same Day Cleaning, packing venues and selling out shows across the tour. Toronto was his latest lucky stop.

Sammy in Toronto

Openers for Sammy Virji were Club Angel and upcoming Australian DJ Sam Alfred. Sam Alfred delivered a pulsating set that kept the crowd moving from start to finish. His crisp house grooves and deep basslines set the tone before Sammy Virji took the stage. The energy never dipped, and the transition felt seamless, leaving the audience buzzing. Sammy Virji didn’t say a word for 90 minutes—he didn’t need to. The energy was electric. The crowd moved as one, no constant shuffling like you see at most shows. His set blended old favorites with fresh tracks, keeping the vibe alive.

Sammy kicked off with ‘Cops & Robbers’ featuring Skepta, and the crowd erupted, through the night signing every word they could. Over the next ninety minutes, he teased a few IDs – can’t wait for those official drops. The set was stacked with heavy hitters like ‘one2three’ by Chris Lake and Disclosure, ‘Up & Down’ with Tuff Jam, ‘Bogeyman’ and ‘Talk of the Town’, with Fred Again… He dropped a wild mashup of TNGHT and Green Velvet’s ‘Goooo’ and ‘Flash’ an edit by Chris Lorenzo. Sammy’s set had serval other slick bends. If you want to relive the night, you can get the official setlist on 1001tracklists. Sammy closed the night with ‘If U Need It’ before finally stepping up to the mic.

Sammy’s energy is contagious. He jumps, he smiles, and never slows down. You leave the show buzzing, hugging strangers, and feeling pure joy.

Venue

History has been a go-to venue for five years, and it’s easily one of Toronto’s best. Big spaces that welcome all genres are rare here, but History nails it. Entry, security, and coat check were smooth from the start. When Sammy hit the stage, the crowd stayed locked in—no constant flow in and out. The heat rose with every beat, but the staff kept things cool, handing out water bottles for the entire 90 minutes. That’s a rare touch when most places charge a fortune for water. It deserves a shoutout to the venue and Sammy’s team. The vibe was so good even the security guards were grooving.

If you haven’t experienced a Sammy Virji show yet, make it a priority. Check his official website to see if he’s hitting a city near you. I loved every minute of this night and can’t wait for the next one. Stay tuned to EDMTunes for the latest in dance music.
