Momi is back with yet another belter from her aesthetic kitchen.
One of our favourite House and Deep House queens, Qrion, is back today, with quite the flex. The artist, who’s been riding the wave of her recent Anjunadeep album We Are Always Under The Same Sky and opened several dancefloors for Above & Beyond on their album tour, is now back to putting out her own music, on no other label than the prestigious Global Underground.
The iconic brand and record label has handed Momi a signing for her latest single, ‘Sounds Good’, a track she comments has a lot of meaning for her, because of the place in time that it’s rooted in: her childhood.
‘Sounds Good’
Back when we interviewed Qrion earlier this year, she told us she often felt inspired by her past to make music. In the memories, and in the pain that comes with remembering a time she lost her father and was lost in the world, she finds a bittersweet note that she’s able to translate into music. This time, it’s the heavy use of the piano that takes her back to her childhood years.
Playing [the piano] brings out my deepest emotions, and it always connects me back to my father, a pianist who has been my biggest inspiration. Those memories of my dad and my childhood aren’t something I’m stuck in or weighed down by. They’re simply a part of who I am, shaping the music I create today.
