Movement Festival Day 2 Washed Out By Rain

UPDATE: As of 7:30 PM PT, the gates have reopened and the festival was allowed special permission to continue until 12:30 AM.

It seems like the weather continues to throw ravers a curve ball! Techno City’s Prime Music Festival Movement made the hard decision to temporarily evacuate attendees to seek shelter on day two of the event. Hart Plaza remains closed until further notice.

Day one was major, with amazing sets from LP Giobbi, Julia Govor, Solomun, Partiboi69 and Dom Dolla, attendees enjoyed the fully functioning fountain and all that the festival provided. The VIP sections thrived with extended viewing, complimentary massages and the opportunity to get an IV Drip infusion. Detroit truly becomes the festival itself with the energy of music. Local retailers, bars, and restaurants greet guests and walkers with an amazing playlist. There are also renegade parties and more underground events happening throughout the weekend to celebrate the festival.

Weather Alert

It was about 6:30 pm on Sunday the 26th when the music got cut short and security staff was forced to direct attendees to their nearest exit. The Movement app continues to update ravers as the forecast comes. Movement’s official afterparties are still scheduled as planned. Techno fans will have the chance to check out the Russell Industrial Center for a double-decked lineup. Artists include I Hate Models, Adiel, Ellen Allien and Richie Hawtin. Nicole Moudaber will light up Detroit with her In The Mood takeover celebrating 10 years. She will play B2Bs with Masters Layton Giordani and Chris Liebing at the Magic Stick. If you’re feeling funky, check out Spot Lite for a night with Anane and Louie Vega, plus DJ Spen and Sillygirlcarmen.

Officials will continue to monitor the weather as we hope for the Techno gods to give us day three without any issues. For updates please follow Movement‘s official sites.
