[Event Review] Dom Dolla Has A Spectacular Sold Out Show At Opening Weekend Of Red Rocks

Last weekend was the opening weekend for the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater for the 2024 season. World-renowned Australian producer, DJ Dom Dolla returned for his third consecutive year for a double headliner show on April 5th and 6th Friday and Saturday. EDMTunes attended Dominic’s show on Friday. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, Dom Dolla had to move his Saturday show to the Mission Bowl due to high-speed wind warnings. I have personally seen Dom several times in different countries, and festivals but a Red Rocks set takes the highest spot! As soon as we watched his Red Rocks set filmed last year we knew we’d want to experience that live.

Red Rocks Show

The experience is always near and dear to my heart. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the most iconic concert venues in the world. Picture this: you’re surrounded by towering red rock formations, with the stages nestled in between. Creating a natural amphitheater that amplifies sound in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. The night began around 6 pm with the crowds rushing in. You could see the sheer joy in people’s eyes as they entered the beautiful theatre. Golden hour is a perfect time to pause soak in nature, and take breathtaking pictures. There were four openers setting the stage with Option 4, Ladies of Leisure, Torren Foot and A-Track. The natural acoustics and stunning surroundings of Red Rocks were the perfect backdrop for Dom Dolla’s music to come alive.

DENVAAAAAAA” is how Dom greets his fans, you’ve seen it and boy it has a nice ring to it. He got on his raised decks as he began with an ID the energy was palpable, the music reverberated through the amphitheater, creating an immersive experience that enveloped me and the other 9000 attendees. Dom’s set was like no other, he played around 7 IDs and some unreleased remixes. The crowd feed off the energy of the music, dancing and singing along under the starry sky. Some of my favourite tracks were ‘Miracle Maker’, ‘Saving Up’, ‘Rhyme Dust’ and ‘Shiver’. Dominic whipped out a Drum and bass ID that really took the fans by surprise and had the whole crowd ecstatic. Catch his tracklist for the two hours of sheer joy here.

As the weekend came to an end, all we hoped for was Dom recording this set so we can relive it until next year. His team and him really did a spectacular job the next day accommodating two shows at the Mission Bowl due to the unfortunate cancellation of the Red Rocks Show. Dom will be playing at Coachella this upcoming weekend! Check out his tour dates here. Stay tuned to EDMTunes as we continue to share fantastic experiences with you all!
