[Event Review] EDMTunes Attends This Never Happened Presents In Toronto

No photos, no recording, live in the moment. That is the motto behind Lane 8’s This Never Happened Label shows. For the first time, the This Never Happened Presents tour took their shows around North America & Canada. Quarter one of this beautiful year had the lovely shows travel from Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, New York, Toronto, Vancouver and a few more cities. If you were lucky to catch this show you know how special they were. There were no recordings, or pictures, so you definitely had to be there.

This Never Happened Presents

Lane 8 brought his finest artists to showcase their music across North America. Ashibah, Avoure, EMBRZ, Luzi Tudor, Massane, Nimino, Ocula, Otherwish & Rinzen swept the cities off their feet. Each show had fans groove and take home memories that would live in our heads rent-free. If you visited the Denver show and got there early, it would have been a treat. The master himself, label boss Lane 8 surprised fans as the local opener. Or if you were at the LA show, the local openers were none other than TNH stars Sultan & Shepard. Words can’t describe or do justice to how exciting these shows are. Check out a video from their New York show below.

TNH Presents – Toronto Show

I had the opportunity to attend the This Never Happened Presents show in Toronto, which was the last stop of their tour. The label had taken over Coda on Friday night and then NewSpeak in Montreal on Saturday. The night began with Otherwish behind the decks, and his debut at Coda was nothing short of splendid. Starting as an opener is never easy, but Otherwish’s killer new EP had the crowd dancing along. The Washington City native took the audience on an unforgettable journey. This TNH artist is undoubtedly one to watch out for in 2024.

Next in line was Luzi Tudor. If you haven’t heard of her, I highly recommend seeing her perform live. Her style of Melodic House and Techno set the dance floor ablaze. Luzi’s tracks such as ‘Sentient Again‘, ‘Super Natural‘ and ‘Oath to Serenity‘ were among the crowd favourites. Her set had shufflers going wild and the beats per minute increased the heart rate of many. Following Luzi was Nimino, a London-based House artist, who incorporated a range of genres from Melodic, Techno, and House, to a bit of Dubstep. No recordings were allowed, making the music experience even more enjoyable for the crowd. The last hour of the night was a special treat with a B3B performance. The trio played music ranging from label boss Daniel’s tracks to their remixes, different TNH artists, and some unreleased music, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for the audience.

I had an unforgettable night, with memories etched in my head and heart along with new friendships on the dancefloor. I can’t wait for the This Never Happened presents Summer Gatherings. This year the gatherings will take place in San Diego, Dillion, and for the first time up in Vancouver Canada. Get your tickets here.
