British icon and actor Idris Elba just released a new song, the fiery House heater ‘La Trumpeta’, under his brand new alias IDRIS. The song is out on Defected Records as of Friday, March 8.
The homegrown DJ turned global A-lister first released with the label in 2020 with ‘No More Looking Back’ in collaboration with Inner City, and in the following years, the demand for more IDRIS culminated in headline slots at Defected’s events at The Warehouse Project and Miami Music Week.
This new single comes on the heels of his remix of ‘The Cure & The Cause,’ adding significant Afro-electronic flair to the 2005 Defected anthem. Now he unveils his first solo original track with the London label, ‘La Trumpeta,’ showcasing IDRIS’s signature global sound in full force. As a matter of fact, a powerful Latin trumpet solo dominates, signalling the arrival of pounding four-on-the-floor breakdowns with major club appeal.
