Tinlicker – Cold Enough For Snow

Cold Enough For Snow is a 13-track LP is unique, not just the classic Tinlicker sound you’re used to. It explores classic progressive house sound to deep house to orchestral touch by Metropole Orkest . Micha and Jordi explore their organic sound with diamond-sharp production skills. Each of the tracks have a unique sound that is accentuated either with soulful vocals or indie guitar or orchestral music. Overall the album does reinforce their signature melodic sound.

Cold Enough For Snow – Collabs

Tricky to pick a favourite out of these distinct tracks. The album has South African queen Julia Church grace us with her powerful vocals on two tracks ‘Glasshouse‘ and ‘Slipstream‘. Church’s edgy voice on ‘Glasshouse‘ is a perfect first song to start off this brilliant album. The lyrics along with the melodic piano arps and her yearning voice confirms the faith in love. Julia co-writes this song with Nathan Nicholson, who wrote ‘Slipstream‘ and concluded it needed a female vocalist. Church shares ‘Glasshouse‘ is about having a recurring dream about someone you love.

Nathan Nicholson is a major collab partner with the Tincliker boys on this album. You get lost in his soul-tearing voice as it rides the woodwind orchestral melodies of ‘Strawberry‘ with Metropole Orkest. The punchy arps along with a more haunting voice Nicholson transposes your to an emotional journey with ‘Staring Down Sunset‘. ‘Crossroads‘ has the breakbeat along with pizzicato utilizing drum breaks, a track I am excited to hear live in sets. ‘Nowhere To Go’ has an unconventional trancey setting cut by Brian Molko’s decadent tones.

Just Tinlicker

Let’s chat about the Tinlicker only tracks. ‘Blowfish’, ‘Revolution’, ‘In Your Eyes‘ and ‘Pretender‘ – all I can say is wow. I said it was tricky to pick a favourite track but… ‘In Your Eyes‘ might do it for me. The progressive beats with a bit of melodic techno in the middle is a song that would enchant me on the dance floor. A song that I can feel myself having my feet tap constantly to and the crowd going wild at the pick up. Ending the album with a banger ‘Pretender’. The melodic hooks and the synths with the echoes of ‘take me higher’ a definite club song that will captivate you. Music brings us all together!

I love what music can do for people, become the sountrack to lives we don’t know about, become very special to them
