An ‘amazing ear for arrangement’ and self-proclaimed ‘weird sound design’ collide! Spencer Brown and Mat Zo have combined forces this time. ‘Spun Day’ is a dark trippy House/Techno monster that has been released by none other than another maestro. The legendary John Digweed himself!
The track was released on Digweed’s own Bedrock Records. It made its way as a part of the legend’s Futuro compilation album that came out on the 17th of November. Spencer credits Digweed as the one the track was inspired from. Consequently, he considers it as an ‘honor’ that it was lapped up by the titan himself for his label and compilation.
Also, Mat Zo’s precise sound design is very evidently laced through the 8-minute sojourn. It is coupled with a dark trippy configuration of pads that is synonymous with any Spencer composition. Occasional vocal chops and gloomy synths also characterize the track progression.
