Seven Lions & Jason Ross Release Anthemic Collab ‘Darkness’

Seven Lions and Jason Ross team up for their seventh collab, ‘Darkness‘. The uptempo track blends golden age Progressive House, Trance, Techno, and Psytrance with dancefloor-ready drops and soaring melodies. Fan favorite Dance songwriter and producer GG Magree sings instantly catchy vocals and uplifting choruses. The release comes around Jason Ross’ new headline series Atlas, which features curated shows at venues including the Hollywood Palladium, Terminal 5, and The Midway SF.

Seven Lions

Washington-based producer Seven Lions has never had an issue pushing the boundaries of Electronic music to fulfill his creative vision. Catching a break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s ‘You Got To Go‘, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past ten years.

After releasing on a plethora of labels, Seven Lions created Ophelia Records in 2018 which has since become a leading independent label in the Melodic Bass subgenre. Since its emergence only four years ago, the label has already made an imprint in the Dance music scene having been voted Dancing Astronaut’s Label Of The Year in 2021, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers and showcases around the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and HARD.

Jason Ross

Jason Ross is one of Dance music’s premier acts, while simultaneously being one of the scene’s more elusive figureheads. That’s not due to any fault of his productions, but rather, purely due to his versatility. Once a mainstay on the legendary Anjunabeats and a rising star of new-age Trance shepherded by Above & Beyond and company, Jason quickly outgrew the boundaries of four-to-floor grooves, expanding into the less finite space of broken beats and pop vocals of melodic bass.

A blossoming working relationship with melodic bass propagator Seven Lions led to genre-defining tracks like ‘Higher Love‘ and ‘Ocean‘, backed up by a beautiful, elongated, and gently weaving Trance discography featuring the likes of ‘Cairo‘, ‘Atlas‘, and his 2019 Anjunabeats EP, Rooms. The ability to weave the emotion and hypnosis of Trance into the more commercial grit of Melodic Bass has made Jason’s recent catalog uniquely his own. His unique multi-genre-tinged approach to production shines on genre-defining tracks like ‘Shelter‘, his Blanke collab ‘One More Day‘, his solo single ‘Wild Ones‘, and his Gryffin collab ‘After You‘, among others.

Ophelia
