Music makes the world go round. And in that regard, we’re constantly on the lookout for new, exciting tunes to share with our audience. We’ve found some that cause goosebumps, and make you open your eyes and get up from your chair to dance. So put on your best pair of headphones, or turn up your speakers, and enjoy this week’s New Music Friday.
Here are our top picks for the best music we came across this week, in no particular order.
Anna Lunoe – Deep Blue Sea
Genre: Future House, Techno
Anna Lunoe is atop the Electronic scene in Australia. A DJ, radio host, producer, vocalist, and curator, she has made a career for a long while now, and made appearances in festivals across the pond such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and EDC Las Vegas. Her style blends the best notes of Techno, Tech House, and Future House, to craft something otherwordly.
‘Deep Blue Sea’, her latest single, aims to redirect her sound over to a new era, and does so with a more-than-needed-in-the-industry amount of originality. Heavy Techno beats stand opposing flavourful, melodic breaks, with a sound that is mere inches away from being old-school. It’s a journey.
Cell M8 – stay. x
Genre: Breakbeat
A newborn in the scene, Cell M8 is a mysterious producer from the UK. Not much is known about them, only that their debut single, ‘stay. x‘, is out now. And what a tune it is.
Somehow this track manages to sound vintage and modern all at once. It drives a chopped “stay” vocal loop throughout the duration of the piece, over a tasty Breakbeat base. The feeling is ecstatic, a tad aggressive, but everything is in its right quantity.
Erick T – Gea (Gabrielle AG Remix)
Genre: Progressive Trance
Here’s a great one. Have a listen to Mexican producer Erick T‘s 2020 hit song, ‘Gea‘, reimagined as a lovely Progressive Trance tune by Gabrielle AG. Two forces collide, on one side we have a man who’s released on labels like Staar Traxx and Axtone, and on the other we have an artist DJ Mag Spain calls “the Queen of Trance in Mexico“.
And the track itself doesn’t disappoint at all. Gabrielle AG’s ‘Gea’ rethink is the perfect combination of Progressive House and Trance, with tasty basslines, percussion that is so simple yet unique, vocal beds, summer pianos, and so much more.
Felix Caso & Ynnox – Waiting For Your Love
Genre: Future Bass, Electro Pop
Coming from a musical family, German songwriter, producer and musician Felix Caso began his journey in this craft when he was only five, with a trumpet. Eighteen years later, he’s well on his way to becoming one of the most influential artists out there, enjoying the beauty of a genre he likes to call Electronic Pop Music (EPM).
He’s recently joined forces with Spotify sensation Ynoxx for a single titled ‘Waiting For Your Love‘. Soft, slow-motion-like, and with an enormous potential to be played on radio stations worldwide, the track talks about non-correspondent feelings from a hopeful point of view. We’ve all been there, wishing for that love to come our way.
ARIA – Tonight (BYOR Flip)
Genre: Deep House, Tech House
Another track that caught our eye this week is this one: ‘Tonight (BYOR Flip)‘. Originally from producer ARIA, the Pop track recently received an EDM treatment from BYOR. This guy doesn’t play around. We’re talking, Spinnin’ Records deals, and shows at Ushuaïa Ibiza.
BYOR’s ‘Tonight’ Flip features a range of tasty dynamic hats over a layer of groovy, Deep House bass plucks. The vocal tops everything off forming a product that is best heard than it is described. This one is a future radio classic in our eyes.
Mav0 – Phonkstep Resonance
Genre: Dubstep, Phonk
Have you ever wondered what Phonk and Dubstep would sound like together? We had. And American producer Mav0 scratched that very itch. Focused on crafting the punchiest, spiciest tracks out there, he came up with something quite unique.
‘Phonkstep Resonance‘ is a daring, very welcome move. Blending the racing-oriented vibes of the Phonk genre with the power of Dubstep, Mav0 successfully went full alchemist mode and created a bomb. Enjoy the break with its purist essence, only to get to the drop and put on your best lemon face.
Zombic, Paul Keen & Bastiqe feat. Lena Sue – Fatal
Genre: Eurodance, EDM
This one is a purebred German banger. We’ve got a handful of acts: Zombic, a viral 21-year-old producer with streaming numbers in the millions, Paul Keen, one of the biggest upcoming artists in the country, Bastiqe, a veteran in the game, having kicked off his career in the year 2009, and Lena Sue, a German-American singer, writer and topliner, able to transition seamlessly between genres.
Their mega collaboration, ‘Fatal‘, brings together the mastery of all four of them, to produce a piece that takes the Trance pianos from the late 90s out of retirement. Reminiscent of Robert Miles and Calvin Harris, the track flies us back to those simpler times when music videos were just shots of the artist in fancy clothes, dancing in public.
JAYCiX – Lose Control
Genre: Future House, Progressive House
Scottsdale producer JAYCiX just released a gigantic EP. The four-tracker is called the Late Nights EP and contains the best of Joey’s signature House sounds, from Future, to Progressive, Deep, and beyond.
Our favourite of them all is ‘Lose Control‘, a tune that can only be described as Daft Punk meets Fred again.. meets Gareth Emery. Yeah, that is quite the long shot, but trust us, it’s got that feeling. And for that we love it. It’s an easy listen, and one you might have in repeat for a while.
