Olympics Official Walks Back Daft Punk Comment

After rumors and misleading hints about a Daft Punk appearance during the Paris 2024 opening ceremony, we have a clear confirmation that it will not happen (unless it’s a fake out).

Yesterday, an interview made by a Paris 2024 official Thomas Jully spread around the web. The artistic director implied that discussions were advances for a Daft Punk return for the major event held in France. Check out more details about the interview in our article here.

With the news going viral, the artistic director had to step in to stop the rumors and unfortunately, kill Daft Punk’s fans’ hopes to see them back on stage maybe one last time.

The Paris 2024 official said about the recent news after his interview :

My comments were confusing and generated a lot of expectations. I must clarify: After discussing a possible presence at the ceremony, the group’s decision is not to participate. I respect this decision and apologize for the ambiguity of my remarks.

Regardless, the Olympic Games ceremony in Paris promises a magnificent show with many iconic French names.

Do you think electronic music names such as David Guetta, Martin Solveig, or DJ Snake will have a spot on the lineup? Which French artists would you like to see and the opening ceremony?
