Lane 8 and Sultan & Shepard have been remixing each other’s tracks for years. Out now is their first collaboration, ‘The Little Mushroom That Got Away‘. The trio got us all with this surprise release, that we have been waiting eons for. This would sound familiar to fans, it is ID 20 from the Spring 2023 mixtape.
Daniel has been pushing out music on his label like wildfire, keeping good to his promises. If you were at the Summer Gatherings this year you would have heard this track at either the New York or Denver sets. Or if you have caught Sultan + Shepard on their North American tour you would have heard it there. I was lucky to hear it up in Toronto in March this year.
The Little Mushroom That Got Away
‘The Little Mushroom That Got Away‘ is a track that is different from what we have heard Daniel, Osama & Ned produce before. The five and a half minute track begins of with a synth and notes that repeat. It continues on with a quick build up by the 50 second mark and continues to follow that pattern. The notes and intensity of this track is leaning towards a more progressive house tune. A banger that will be circling the dancefloor frequently this winter. The track has been a crowd pleaser so far and I can’t wait to hear it on the dancefloor again. In the spring 2023 mixtape this ID was a exemplary setup for the mix getting darker. It fed seamlessly into ‘Rave‘ by Lane 8. The name of the track is cute but the mean of it is playing on mind. Another mystery hopefully we will know more about.
We are all very excited about how this song turned out because it felt different to what either of us had done in the past, and yet it fit seamlessly into both our sets. hope you all enjoy!
