Two world-class artists take on the task of updating a ten-year-old classic, in two different ways.
This week surely brought a ton of new music to the table. Among those tracks that just saw the light of day, this one may be among the more special ones. Back in 2013, High 5 released the single ‘As Long As It Takes‘ on Amon Vision. The track saw tons of support, including three Above & Beyond‘s radioshow ABGT plays.
Ten years have passed, and the track has grown to become one of the most beloved ones of the imprint. This year, with the idea of celebrating its tenth birthday, Amon Vision arranged a revision of ‘As Long As It Takes’, coming from two very experienced artists: Paul Skelton on one hand, and Tomas Heredia on the other.
Since its release, the remix package has been met with approval far and wide. Paul van Dyk and Aly & Fila already gave the EP some love playing on their respective radioshows. As we speak, As Long As It Takes (The Remixes) keeps climbing the charts, standing on the throne as the #1 release on Beatport’s Trance Hype chart, and #16 on the main one.

The ten-year anniversary EP contains two remixes, the Paul Skelton remix, and the Tomas Heredia one. Each artist took the original track and sent it their own way, which in the end made for a really interesting product.
Paul Skelton’s Remix
Fast-paced, dynamic, and old-school sounding, Paul’s remix builds a bridge that connects the late 2000s Trance sound and the current Uplifting Trance vibe. Piano, airy pads, tons of Trance elements such as plucks and arpeggios, and extra textures, all work towards one goal: breathing new life into a classic.
Tomas Heredia’s Remix
True to the Argentinian’s sound, Tomas Heredia brought the original track to a slower range of BPMs. A bit more on the introspective side, Heredia’s version is a Progressive Trance piece, morphing House, Progressive, and the aforementioned Progressive Trance, all into one cohesive tune. The perfect combination for a beach sunset set, for instance.
