Ancient Petra in Jordan Scheduled to Witness New Festival in 2024

Want to party like it’s 312 BC? Your wish might just have been answered. The legendary Petra in Jordan is playing host to a brand-new festival called Medaina. It is scheduled to launch in May 2024 amongst Petra and the nearest Wadi Rum Valley. The valley is also billed as the ‘Valley of the Moon’ or ‘Mars on Earth’ owing to its distinguished red appearance.

The Tithorea production company has carved out a reputed name for themselves in producing events in bewildering locations. The epic Echoes from Agartha festival is a testimony to the fact. It has been witnessed at Guanacaste in Costa Rica, Cappadocia in Turkey, San Miguel Del Allende in Mexico and Brasov in Romania.

We’ve done festivals all over the world but I’m especially excited to present Medaina at the absolutely magical sites of Petra and Wadi Rum in Jordan. The synergy that has come together to make this historic celebration happen has been thrilling and the support from the Jordanian people and government is deeply inspiring. We’ll offer our fantastically state-of-the-art creative direction to make this an immersive experience of a lifetime

Acquiring its name from a combination of “Mediterranean” and the Arabic “ain”, which means spring, Medaina spans across 5 days. It commences in the ancient city of Petra on May 22. The celebrations then move to Wadi Rum on May 24 with a centerpiece event scheduled the next day. It is scheduled to run till May 27.
