In keeping with tradition, Tomorrowland dropped the full timetable for 2023 one day after the official trailer hit the web. Not only did Tomorrowland share the full set times, but it also revealed the new stages for this year. Let’s dive in.
The 17th edition of Tomorrowland will revolve around the theme ‘Adscendo’, turning De Schorre into a magical destination high on the horizon, where the People of Tomorrow will witness the rise of a magnificent tale in the history of Tomorrowland’s Great Library. This year’s ‘Adscendo’ Mainstage is 100% crafted from in-house decor made by the Tomorrowland Atelier. The creative team behind Tomorrowland invents, draws, and brings the magical stages of the iconic festival to life in 3D, while the Tomorrowland Atelier creates, builds, and installs the stages at the festival grounds in Boom.
On Weekend 1 the mainstage closes will be Tiesto, Alesso, and Martin Garrix. The mainstage will feature some surprising names like Amelie Lens, Lilly Palmer, GORDO, and Nina Kraviz. On Weekend 2 the mainstage closers will be Hardwell, Steve Aoki, and Martin Garrix. The mainstage gets some surprising sets from Kolsch, Steve Angello b2b Sebastian Ingrosso, Tale of Us, Indira Paganotto, and R3hab b2b W&W. The timetable is available here and on the Tomorrowland App.
Symphony of Unity Returns
In 2015, Tomorrowland welcomed the Belgian National Orchestra to play the Symphony of Unity live on stage. The DJ booth was handed over to 80 live musicians for the very first time, performing the Symphony of Unity, composed specially for Tomorrowland – bringing a magical performance in which classical and electronic music was united and transformed into an unprecedented show. Four years later, the Symphony of Unity returned to Tomorrowland in 2019 in collaboration with the Metropole Orchestra Academy, playing a 60-minute spectacle on both Sundays, as well as two magical ‘Our Story‘ shows in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The orchestra’s performance was mesmerizing for the audience, with a unique live mix between the all-time and most iconic electronic Tomorrowland anthems and magical classical music such as the Tomorrowland Hymn.
This year, Tomorrowland teamed up with BMW to look for musicians themselves. With more than 100 registrations from all over the world coming in, seven musicians have been selected and invited to join the Symphony of Unity live on stage during Tomorrowland at the Atmosphere stage on July 22 and July 29.
This year we have a complete redesign of one of the most beloved and longest running stages at Tomorrowland. The Rose Garden and its magnificent dragon have been “completely remade”. To what end, we don’t know, but we’re excited to find out. The timeless Harbor House, which often greets fans as they walk between sections of the festival, has been replaced by Elixir, a stage drawing inspiration from the 2016 Tree Stage. Kara Savi, one of the smallest stages, has been replaced by Terra Solis, which pays tribute to the festival’s brand-new Dubai outpost. Finally, the Rise stage is likely to replace the Leaf by JBL stage.
