Summer Camp Festival Going On Hiatus After 2023 Edition

Ian Goldberg, the producer of Summer Camp Festival, just shared some sad news in a statement on the festival’s social accounts. As a matter of fact, “due to various factors“, Summer Camp Music Festival will be taking a hiatus. The event started over two decades ago, in 2001 over Memorial Day Weekend, at Three Sisters Park, in Chillicothe, IL.

Goldberg shared that “the challenges of throwing a mid-size independent music festival in the face of the big corporate festivals as competition both for fans and for artists, along with the logistical challenges (especially post-pandemic) of throwing an event of this size in a small market in Central Illinois” has proven to be more difficult than ever. Even though the producer wanted to scale back the event in a way that would feel true to Summer Camp Music Festival, it did not feel right.

However, this does not mean the end at all for Summer Camp. For now, Goldberg still wants to keep the tradition of gathering every Memorial Day Weekend at Three Sisters Park to continue. In fact, the plan is to throw a redefined camping & music experience starting in 2024 that will be presented by Summer Camp at the same dates and location. You can read the full statement below.

Summer Camp 2023 will have plenty of dance music acts for the weekend. This year’s lineup includes Excision (headliner), Ganja White Night, Boogie T, Green Velvet, Rusko, Wooli, Manic Focus, The Sponges, and many more.
