Pete Tong Set To Play During Coronation of King Charles

The coronation of King Charles will take place on Saturday, May 6th with a coronation concert lineup that includes Pete Tong among others. Taking place at Westminster Abbey, this historic occasion promises a concert with “global music icons” and “contemporary stars”. These attendees also include Katy Perry, Britain’s own Take That, Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, new Doctor Who Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa will perform excerpts from Shakespeare with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Winnie-The-Pooh, and more. Performances from the Royal Opera Chorus and Royal Ballet are also slated to bring a song from West Side Story to life.

Now, among the A-listers and music icons set to appear is young singer-songwriter Jerub. He hails from Nottingham and will play alongside Pete Tong, Vula, and a 76-piece orchestra at Windsor Castle. Other acts slated to perform on the night are Lionel Richie, Paloma Faith, and Andrea Bocelli. Born in Nigeria, Jerub moved to the UK at age 10. He was a BBC Radio 1 finalist in 2021. Now, he’s here to show his roots in pop, soul, and indie.

Ten thousand will be in attendance who won the lottery for tickets. Hugh Bonneville of Downton Abbey is hosting. Enjoy a 300-strong Coronation Choir, and expect some Hollywood glamour. What’s more, the centerpiece of the event is a light show. It will feature projections, lasers, a drone display, and illuminations across the UK.
