Essential Mix 1
In 2019, ANNA released her first Essential Mix—a two-hour techno set that showcases her skills as a DJ and producer. The mix is full of energy and drive, with a strong focus on driving beats and melodic elements. She expertly blended together a variety of sounds to create a cohesive and exciting mix.
The mix kicks off with a bang with “Galactic Highways” by ANNA. The powerful, driving techno anthem sets the tone for the rest of the mix. ANNA then takes listeners on a journey through a variety of techno subgenres, including acid techno, melodic techno and industrial techno. She also includes a few of her own remixes, including Jon Hopkins‘ “Singularity.”
Essential Mix 1 is full of highlights, but standout tracks include “Project Zeus (Jay Clarke Remix 1)” by Dense & Pika, “Third Floor” by Christian Smith & Wehbba, “Spectral” by ANNA and “Portable Paradise” by ANNA. After this energetic showing, fans can’t wait to see what she brings with round two.
History
ANNA is a Brazilian DJ and producer who has been making waves in the techno scene for a number of years. She started DJing at the tender age of 14. She then honed her craft at her father’s nightclub in the countryside outside São Paulo. The producer has released a number of singles and remixes since 2013. Notably, some of the biggest names in techno, including Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and Adam Beyer, have played her music. In 2016, ANNA won Best Breakthrough Artist at the DJ Awards, and received a nomination in 2019 for Best Techno. Later, that August, she released a collab with Kittin titled “Forever Ravers,” which was named “techno track of the year” by a number of platforms. 2022 marked the release of her first album, with collaborator Endel, The Spring of Dreams.
She is known for her seductive yet heavy-hitting brand of techno, and is one of the most ever-evolving artists on the scene. Take a listen to her latest music on Spotify.
