Sebastian Ingrosso Looks Back on Hit ‘Calling’

Celebrating eleven years of the golden Progressive House record, one of its creators shared a little insight into the creation process.

It’s hard to believe it’s been that long, but that’s just how time flies. 2012 happened eleven years ago. A year that we now recall as one of, if not THE, most fruitful years for EDM in recent times, and even more so for Progressive House, that genre we’d love to hear at large music gatherings, raise our hands high in the air, and sometimes, even shed a tear or two while singing the melodies in unison.

2012 was SO legendary that we were vibing to Zedd‘s ‘Clarity‘, Avicii‘s ‘Silhouettes‘, Calvin Harris‘ ‘We’ll Be Coming Back‘, and even Swedish House Mafia‘s ‘Don’t You Worry Child‘. That’s just a small proof. One of the most remembered songs from said year is ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)‘, the mighty Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso collab, with vocals by Ryan Tedder. The hit was released on March 13th, 2012.

Ingrosso about ‘Calling’

As a sort of anniversary-related post, Seb shared a little story on his Instagram page about how ‘Calling’ came to be, how excited both Alesso and him were when the song was ready, and how the contact with vocalist Ryan Tedder was made.
