Nelly Furtado performed her first set in five years for New Year’s Eve in Australia. The ‘I’m Like A Bird’ singer crushed a 35-minute set at Beyond the Valley as her comeback party. Beyond the Valley is a popular multi-day music and camping festival during New Year’s Eve weekend in Lardner, Victoria, Australia.
We all remember her 2001 classic hits in high school ‘I’m Like A Bird’, ‘Promiscuous’, ‘Maneater’, and ‘Say It Right’. She’s won Grammys for best female pop vocal performance for them. With over 30,000 fans and reworks to her music on TikTok, she’s making a killer comeback. What’s more, Dom Dolla invited her onto his stage during his pre-midnight set where she performed the TikTok cut of ‘Say It Right’ featuring Bicep’s ‘Glue’ track. Check it out below.
If anyone caught Elton John’s last concert at Dodger Stadium, he brought out Dua Lip for PNAU’s remix of ‘Cold Heart’. So, this is reminiscent of that. Furtado has appeared on Billboard Hot 100 chart on collaborations with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. Last year, she journeyed to South America to record new music and collaborations with Colombian artists. The Canadian singer has not disappeared and seems to be emerging anew. She even appeared onstage with Drake at the 2022 OVO Fest.
Since its inception in 2014, the boutique music festival Beyond The Valley has grown into an annual party-goers haven. Running annually over the New Year’s Eve period, BTV’s carefully crafted selection of local and international artists perform across three distinctly designed, purpose-built stages. This event’s lineup included Denzel Curry, Diplo, Honey Dijon, Kaytranada, Bicep, Aitch, Yeat, Flight Facilities, Patrick Topping, Charlotte de Witte, and so much more.
