Sunday Funday: Coffin Edition for this LA club

Without a doubt, 2020 has thrown a lot at us – from wild fires, to pandemics, to murder hornets, and now — bottle girls popping out of coffins. Yup, you read that correctly. This past Sunday, a popular club in LA held it’s soft opening since being closed for quarantine since early March. Penthouse Day Club literally had bottle girls, popping out of coffins to commemorate the grand re-opening and the “end of lock down.” This party was part of the “brunch edition” series – something the club seems to be wildly popular for.

This is definitely an odd site to see. For one, was this an “ode” to all that is going on the world? An odd way to commemorate those we have lost from COVID-19? Or potentially even a play on us being “stuck in our houses” for so long? Maybe the humor was a bit lost in this odd sense of satire. Either way, I think we can all agree expensive Champagne and liquor, mixed with bottle girls sitting in a coffin – isn’t something we are used to seeing every day.

While not to worry, all staff was taking the proper precautions wearing masks. Reservations were in fact mandatory and groups were limited to no more than 10 people. However, judging by the videos & photos found on social media – the whole “6 feet” social distancing rule wasn’t exactly followed.

Judging by their Instagram, it appears Penthouse Day Club is no stranger to a “turnt up” crowd and good themed party. It looks like a great time was had by all this past weekend. I guess it’s safe to safe – the end of quarantine brings a WHOLE new meaning to “Sunday Funday”.
