Jorn Van Deynhoven’s new track ‘I Need Your Lovin (Like The Sunshine)’ featuring Sue McLaren for Armada Music draws you in the first few seconds. It starts off as a drum fuelled tessellation. It breaks and flows into the vocals with a fluid synth that reminds me of why I love trance music in the first place. Although a new release, this song takes me back to the great moments I had discovering songs that have become a staple on my playlists. I’m glad to add this one to them as well. It reminds me of my love for the genre, as any great trance song should do.
The vocals are beautifully planted in the ataractic body of the track. The track is supported by underlying male and female one-liners that add texture and break to the blissful main hook. The song then continues into its drum-lust, building the last minute-and-a-half allowing the bass and drums to carry itself until the end. The last soothing vocal is accompanied by the lead keys for the final break.
‘I Need Your Lovin (Like The Sunshine)’ brings us through a classic door into a new main room with the freshness of what a new track should.
