Armin van Buuren Teams Up with WWF in #BeatPlastic Campaign

Armin Van Buuren Beatplastic

As one of the industry’s most revered, Armin van Buuren has touched the hearts of many with his music. (Just consider all the stories we’ve heard on the Service for Dreamers segment of his A State of Trance show!) But now, he’s about to touch the lives of many more. Following an official press release from WWF, Armin van Buuren has proudly been announced as a Global Oceans Ambassador with regards to the NGO’s worldwide #BeatPlastic campaign.

“For years, I’ve been bringing people together with my music. It’s my way of making the world a bit more beautiful. In addition to being a DJ and producer, I’m also a father, and I want to give my children, their children and all generations thereafter the world they deserve.”

Given his impressive fan base, Armin is the perfect ambassador to help raise awareness for the issue of plastic pollution. An alarming statistic from WWF, “8 million tons of plastic are dumped in the oceans each year.” To make matters worse, the number is “set to double by 2030″. Urgent action is therefore required to “[make] the world a bit more beautiful,” and Armin aims to do this by “[inspiring] millions of people every day to use less disposable plastic.” We’re with you, Armin. “Life on earth is too precious to get smothered by plastic.”

In a first step to promoting the #BeatPlastic cause, Armin has invited fans to sign this petition, which calls for governments around the world to sign a global agreement to put an end to plastic pollution. He has also committed to making any upcoming A State of Trance events plastic-smart.

Speaking of A State of Trance, the A State of Trance Year Mix 2019 is out now. Check it out below.
