Pioneer’s New XDJ-XZ Controller Is Officially Here

Just last week, we heard some rumors and website hints from DJ giant Pioneer about a potential addition to their XDJ series. Now, we’ve learned that it’s official. The new all-in-one-product is called the XDJ-XZ and it fits as the basic product of the XDJ family. The Pioneer website describes it as gear “that’s perfect for events, a bar or club, or your private studio.”

The Features

Now that last week’s rumors have become official, we’re excited to see the new XDJ-XZ in action. The new gear feels similar to playing on the brand’s high-end gear like the NXS2 with a more portable feel. Rekordbox is fully compatible with this product as well, and Serato DJ Pro will be compatible soon too.

The XDJ-XZ also comes with a big update for the all-in-one series of products that have come from Pioneer. It has 2 extra channels that support Pro DJ Link, meaning that you can connect CDJs and sync the audio to whatever you’re playing. In addition, this XDJ-XZ contains a 7-inch touch screen and a screen on the decks where you can check important info. On the connections front, you can find 3 USB inputs (type A x 2, type B x 1) to make B2B possibilities even easier.

The 16 multicolored Performance Pads allow you to get creative and animate your sets with 14 professional Beat FX and 6 Sound Color FX, taken straight from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer.

The Cost

The XDJ-XZ is available now at an SRP of €2,199 / £1,899, including VAT/at a MAP of $2,299 USD. However, the product is already beginning to receive criticism as it’s seen by many as a step behind DJ controllers available from other brands.
