Dua Lipa Describes New Album as “Nostalgic” & “Disco-Themed”

There’s no question that Dua Lipa has made a name for herself. She has an impressive and lengthy list of accomplishments throughout her career. Recently, the English singer released a brand new single, ‘Don’t Start Now‘, which surprised her army of dedicated fans in a undeniably positive way! The fresh track boast a slightly funkier sound than her previous hits such as ‘New Rules‘.

During a recent appearance at the MTV Europe Music Awards, the superstar spoke to Metro.co.uk about her new project. When asked if the new vibe was intentional, the 24-year-old confirmed that it was all part of a bigger picture. She then dished that she will be switching things up, in hopes of taking us back to the 70’s disco era. Furthermore, she confirmed that the new album will still have a “current” and “fun” sound.

“It’s quite nostalgic and disco elements but I wanted it to sound fresh, new and still current but I’m experimenting and having fun. It’s a very fun, nostalgic disco-related album.”

We are eagerly looking forward to hearing new music from the talented artist. We’ve seen some, honestly perfect, collaborations in the past, like with Calvin Harris for ‘One Kiss‘ and ‘Scared To Be Lonely‘ with Martin Garrix. That said, with the new sound, we’re positive the fresh singles will be chart-topping hits as well!
