Frank Ocean and Justice Collaborate on New ID

No one was expecting new Frank Ocean music before the year was over. Yet here we are with “DHL“. If that wasn’t enough to overwhelm everyone, Frank Ocean also launched a queer club night in New York City called PrEP+, where he also debuted a new track with Justice.

The night is named PrEP+ as an homage to what could have been of the 1980s’ NYC club scene if the drug PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) — which can be taken daily to prevent HIV/AIDs for those who are not infected but are at high risk — had been invented in that era.

Frank Ocean moves away from his vulnerable vibe in ‘Blonde‘ towards music with more club influences. He states, “the expectation for artists to be vulnerable and truthful is a lot, you know?-when it’s no longer a choice.”

Additionally, he’s always been interested in the many different iterations of club music and songs. He’s inspired by the scenes in Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic and more. The music that Frank Ocean plans to release will be drastically different from what he’s put out previously.

Although there was a strict no photo or video policy at the event, there were clips captured for this collaboration. You can view recorded videos below.
