Couple Killed Heading to Rolling Loud Festival in Bay Area

Rolling Loud Bay Area took place at the Oakland Coliseum Grounds on September 28 – September 29. Rolling Loud Bay Area is one of the many locations that hosts this rap-based festival. Other locations include New York, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Before the festivities began, a tragic incident occurred, affecting two party-goers who were making their way to the festival.

On Saturday, September 28, 2019, Ryan Wasilavsky, 20, and Giovanna “Gigi” Giannini, 20, were murdered in East Oakland. It has been reported that the police department was notified that a car had crashed into a house in the area. When the officers arrived on the scene to begin the investigation, they discover that gunshot wounds to the head were the true cause of their death – not the car crash.

As of October 8, the investigation has been officially closed. Keith Riley, 36, has been charged with the double-homicide. The criminal was identified due to surveillance footage. However, the exact motive has not yet been disclosed. We wish to extend our sincerest thoughts and prayers to the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time. A GoFundMe page is active for Wasilavsky in order to help his family cover the costs of a celebration of life in his hometown of Dublin.

Stay safe out there, everyone.
