The MID Chicago Nightclub Set To Officially Close Its Doors In 2019

Warning: we are about to tug on your heartstrings…

If you live in the Chicago area, have attended the very popular Lollapalooza festival in the past, or, simply, thrive to experience some of the best clubs in the entire world, you’ll want to hear this.

Recent reports say that the well-known nightclub, The MID Chicago, plans to close its doors in February 2019.

This shocking revelation follows the sudden notice of the recent expansion of the Fulton Market District and the West Loop area.

“UNFORTUNATELY, THE TIME HAS COME WHERE THE MID’S DOORS WILL BE CLOSING ON FEBRUARY 5, 2019. THESE LAST REMAINING MONTHS WILL BE A CELEBRATION OF THE PAST AND A TOAST TO THE FUTURE. WE WANT TO THANK ALL THE FANS, ARTISTS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, MANAGERS, AND PROMOTERS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED US THROUGHOUT THIS ERA. AS A TOKEN OF OUR APPRECIATION, WE ARE PUTTING TOGETHER SOME VERY SPECIAL EVENTS LEADING UP TO THAT “ONE LAST SONG.” IT’S BEEN AN INCREDIBLE RUN TO SAY THE LEAST BUT NOW IT’S TIME TO TURN THE PAGE AS WE RAISE OUR GLASSES TO WHAT WILL BE THE END OF AN ERA, AND THE BEGINNING OF OUR NEXT CHAPTER.”

The beloved venue opened its doors in 2010 and quickly became recognized on a worldwide basis. Acclaimed magazine DJ Mag was undeniably and most certainly a fan. They did not hesitate to include the nightclub in their ‘Top 100 Clubs‘ list. In 2013, they ranked the venue at #40 in the world. The high ranking attracted the very best in electronic music. However, since 2013, the club saw its ranking dip over the years.

The MID Chicago will forever be known as one of the most dynamic and influential clubs on the planet. The venue welcomed an extensive list of artists such as Ookay, Getter, Dr. Fresch, Tiesto, Claude Vontroke, Dubfire, and many more. It’s safe to say that the parties that unfolded on the dancefloor were beyond legendary. Who could forget when The Blackhawks celebrated their Stanley Cup Championship with the absolute fire performance by Deep Dish.

RIP the MID Chicago – you will always have a place in our hearts.
