Whenever Drake steps to the mic, big things always seem to follow. As soon Scorpion dropped, his anthems spread across the world followed by viral dance videos, covers, and remixes. The chart topping hit, ‘In My Feelings,’ sparked recreations from multiple artists including the New York City production duo Brasstracks.
Brasstracks, have once again demonstrated instrumental forte and flipped Drake’s signature flow with their energetic trumpet production. Covering popular hip hop songs is not unfamiliar to the duo with remixes out such as Lil Uzi Vert’s, ‘XO TOUR Llif3’ and Drake’s ‘Trophies.’ Brasstracks’ recurring success for demonstrating their unique artistic vision definitely shows they are onto musical gold with their latest Drake flip.
“The minute we heard ‘In My Feelings’ we knew we could do one of our trumpet flips, the melody is so memorable that it doesn’t need lyrics do be recognized,” they tell Complex. “We got to work right away—singles like these are fleeting these days. It was great to be able to add some harmony and color to this song. Can’t wait to hear people sing the lyrics over the horn lines at our shows.”
