kramder – Funkastic EP
French DJs have been dominating the scene lately with epic releases by Tchami, Malaa, Justice and more. Recently, a new producer has appeared that is carving out a special spot amongst French house DJs and you’ll definitely want to give his tracks a listen. Kramder is one of the newest additions to Tchami’s CONFESSION label and while he’s only been producing music for six years, his energetic take on house music is catching like wildfire. Now, kramder brings his unique blend of funk, house and disco in full force on his new Funkastic EP.
This two track EP will have you dancing as soon as you start to play the first track, ‘Groove Sauce‘. Similar to Throttle’s “dirty disco” style, this track has a bouncy bassline and pounding beat that give off a happy-go-lucky vibe. After the electric guitar fueled first track comes track number two, ‘Pure Gasoline‘. This track possesses the signature future house sound that we have to come to identify the CONFESSION label with. Add some funky guitar riffs and a vocal sample to the distorted synths and future house funk is born.
“Since I was a kid, I have been in love with funk and disco music. Aside from my bass-house project, I always tried to make some more funky tracks in my bedroom. After five or six projects, ‘Groove Sauce’ was born, and I decided to finish it. I sent it to Malaa and he ended up playing it live a handful of times. He spoke to Tchami about my work, and then one day, I woke up with an email from Tchami himself…I thought at first that the email was junk, but then realized Tchami wanted to sign me to CONFESSION.
