Coachella Closes Campground Today as 90MPH Winds Destroy Do-Lab Tent

Coachella Weekend 2 is off to a rocky start, and in fact, it’s not even off to a start yet at all. Due to strong wind storms on Thursday, Coachella had to take the unusual move of closing down the campgrounds for the day. The campgrounds will now open Friday at 3am (pending safe conditions). As a result the attendees will not be able to set up camp at all until the winds have passed, and you can only imagine the long lines and waits that will result from this.

While many think this is crazy, the wind storm has already had some severe impacts on the Coachella grounds. As you can see below, the winds reached up to 90mph and destroyed the Do-Lab tent structure. This happened on Wednesday, leaving the Do-Lab team 2 days to rebuild their tent. You can see why Coachella isn’t letting anybody else set up their campsites yet.
