Aymo Poldoore Remix Balkan Bump

Poldoore Brings Back The Groove On Remix of ‘Aymo’

EDMTunes has covered Balkan Bump and his debut EP with a fascinated eye. Will Magid is an avid lover of everything music with a special fondness for the trumpet. His impressive talent and dedication has led to his live show going on tour with Low Temp label boss Gramatik. And now his signature track with Gramatik and Talib Kweli is ready for a remix EP. Featuring remixes from Sidecar Tommy, Russ Liquid, Kotek and Poldoore, ‘Aymo‘ will be ready for a whole new tour around the dance floors of the world on April 27th. But we managed to grab a sneak peak of the Poldoore remix and just couldn’t keep it away from our readers. Thomas Schillebeeckx gives ‘Aymo’ a deep, downtempo treatment that brings the groove to bear.

Poldoore somehow manages to utilize all the core elements of the original ‘Aymo’ while still adding his own flair and depth to the song. The familiar piano chord progression, the oud (Arabic lute) and Kweli’s vocals all feature heavily in the remix but feel even more full and present than in the source track. The Belgian producer draws down the tempo and uses his impressive musical knowledge to inhabit the silence between the sounds, forcing the instrumentation into the forefront of the listener’s conscious. Working in this minimalistic space takes a technical proficiency that comes off as obvious in Poldoore’s incredible remix.

You can listen to the Poldoore remix of ‘Aymo’ two days early in the link below. Let us now what you think about Schillebeeckx’s take on Balkan Bump’s breakout track. And if you’ve heard this track live, let us know how groovy you got on the dance floor!
