Calvin Harris Hints At Making His Return To House Music

Calvin Harris has accumulated quite the catalog of releases, starting with “I Created Disco“, jumping into “Ready For The Weekend” and dropping even more hits with “18 Months” & “Motion“. However his latest release, “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” was received with mixed reviews.

While the album featured a wide range of artists including Khalid, Migos, Snoop Dogg and even Pharrell Williams to name a few, many seemed to feel that the album went into more of a pop direction that was trending with various other DJs at the time. Many fans even voiced their distaste and claimed that they missed the old Calvin Harris.

According to a new post on Calvin’s Instagram story, that soon may not be the case.

Harris took to his story to tease that he had a couple of things on the way soon that he was very excited for. He also mentioned that he had a new rule for himself that pertained to his music:

Nothing below 124 BPM, I like that tempo a lot and maybe more than 128 BPM and anyone who knows any of my music knows that I fucking love 128BPM.

Fans took notice of this and speculated that this could possibly signify his return to the house music world.

Could Virtual Self‘s “Ghost Voices” serve as inspiration for this new direction? Harris did mention before that he credited the track for his renewed passion in dance music. Whatever this new direction brings, we here at EDMTunes are excited to see what’s in store for the Scottish DJ.
