Calvin Harris May Have to Remix a Spice Girls Classic

Adam Richard Wiles, known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish record producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter who is known for his international success within the music industry. Famous for his many original tracks and collaborations, Harris is also famous for his many remixes, including Say My Name by Florence and the Machine and When You Were Young by The Killers. Now, thanks to one dedicated fan, we might be one step closer to Calvin Harris “spicing up” our lives.

Back in 2012, the Scottish DJ allegedly promised to remix the Spice Girls hit single ‘2 Become 1’ if the Aussies legalized same-sex marriage. After the Australian House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of same sex marriage, fellow DJ, Filip Odzak, was quick to remind Harris of their deal.

Odzak quickly took to social media following the legislation’s passing, proclaiming that “We made a deal — sealed with a handshake,” adding that he has been waiting a “lengthy five years” for this. “I’m very excited to hear what you do with the track to celebrate the occasion.”

Even Spice Girl’s very own Emma Bunton weighed in on the wager: “Let’s spice up Calvin Harris! It would be fab for Calvin to remix ’2 Become 1,’” she told British outlet, The Sun.

Earlier this month, Australia embraced marriage equality, with current Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull saying: “This is Australia: fair, diverse, loving and filled with respect. For every one of us this is a great day.

How much more fantastic would this song be remixed by Calvin Harris?
