Arguably one of the biggest sub-genres of EDM to emerge over the past few years has been Future House. The genre combines funky deep elements with a harder, bouncier, mainstage feel sound. One of the pioneers of the genre is Dutch DJ/producer Oliver Heldens.
As one of the pioneers, it’s only fitting that the godfather of Future House shows us what’s good in the genre. Heldens recently teamed up with Billboard to construct the Top 20 Future House songs for our listening pleasure. They include some of his own, including ‘Gecko’ and ‘Renegade Mastah’ as his alias Hi-Lo. A-Trak‘s iconic remix of ‘Heads Will Roll’ makes an appearance as well. The Dirtybird sounds of ‘Okay’ by Shiba San come in at number 16 while Fedde le Grand‘s ‘Let Me Think About It’ and ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ are 17 and 9 respectively.
