Amsterdam Dance Event – one of the largest conferences and festivals that has dominated the international electronic music scene since its start in 1996 – is quickly approaching as it kicks off on October 18th.

The five-day event features a massive program with activities that spread beyond just parties and conference keynotes. It’s actually something of a playground for musically associated adults – and it’s amazing.

Not sure what to check out? Haven’t dug through the event’s program yet? Here are a few of the larger initiatives that happen during the course of ADE you should consider checking out – we know we will.

1. ADE Sound Lab

The ADE Sound Lab, taking place at De Brakke Grond, will be a three-day event that allows participants to “immerse in sound.”

The Sound Lab has huge list of offerings available to those who decide to partake, including “demos, workshops, masterclasses, presentations of new and conceptual instruments, audio-visual experiences, modular synth setups and live performances.” It’s an opportunity for artists and producers to test out new gear, create new sounds and connect with other established musicians as well.

Artists including Tiga, Soulwax, DVS1 and Gary Numan are all on the lineup for Sound Lab. The event runs from October 19th-21st, starting each day at noon.

2. ADE LIVE

The ADE LIVE showcase brings together the cream of the crop from the live performance electronic music world, happening October 18th and 19th.

Historically ADE LIVE has been an opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase their live sets in a prominent spot on the ADE lineup. This year’s edition brings 23 specially chosen artists including Chrome Sparks, Hercules & Love Affair, Elderbrook, Anna of the North and Sinead Harnett over the course of the two days to perform their own unique live performances.

This year, ADE has partnered with Paradiso, Sugarfactor and Melkweg for an epic location to host the event as well.

3. ADE Tech

ADE Tech is a new conference track for Amsterdam Dance Event this year in which the future of technology will be explored and discussed. Curated by Paylogic, the event aims to showcase various forms of emerging technology.

A few of the confirmed topics for the one-day event include Realising the Potential of Digital Reality and Blockchanging The Entertainment Industry.

ADE Tech takes place on October 19th at the DeLaMar Theatre. More details can be found here.

4. ADE Beats

Happening on October 20th, ADE Beats has become one of the most significant platforms for hip-hop, beats and bass conversations internationally.

The single-day conference track offers networking sessions, conversations around hip-hop trends and markets, music talks and much more.

The event, happening at Melkweg, will truly be a treat. Read more on it here.
