Pasquale Rotella Responds To DJ Khaled Incident

It seems as if people can’t stop talking about DJ Khaled getting booed off stage at EDC Las Vegas last weekend. Fans, fellow artists, media outlets, and everything in between has been flooded with talk of the “sabotaged set”. Was it sabotage? Was it driven by the unsatisfied crowd? We would love to hear from someone who actually can clear up this mess so we can finally move on. Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella has finally stepped onto the PR scene after dealing with more important matters to help guide us toward the truth.

According to a statement that was given to Billboard, Pasquale says that “Due to technical difficulties beyond DJ Khaled and Insomniac’s control, Khaled was not able to perform at his scheduled time on Sunday night at EDC. He arrived on time and ready to rock the crowd, but equipment issues delayed the performance. Even though there were technical difficulties he still got on stage and showed his fans love.”

In addition to Rotella’s official statement on the matter, DJ Khaled told his complete side of the story at Power 106 FM:

So I guess it’s safe to say it was a technical difficulty that was understood in different ways among the artist and crew. DJ Khaled sure knows how to turn a singular incident into a full-blown publicity blast that keeps his name in our mouths and attention directed at him no matter our personal feelings about the exuberant rapper. Stay tuned.
