The xx’s Night and Day Festival Has Been Cancelled

Night and Day

The xx’s, Night and Day Festival has officially been cancelled for reasons truly out of anybodies control. The festival was set to take place July 14-16 at Skógafoss in Iceland.

Skógafoss was just added to the Environmental Endangered Areas List making the festival much harder to plan. The festival was announced back in May as a follow up to their successful Day + Night show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

The three day festival boasted an impressive lineup featuring Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Earl Sweatshirt, Floating Points, and the groups own, Jamie xx. The camping festival was limited to just 6,000 tickets and was reasonably priced considering the lineup and the stunning location at the Skógafoss waterfalls.

Full refunds will be given to ticket holders and while this cancellation is a shame, there are countless opportunities to see The xx this summer as they are embarking on an extensive European and North American tour.

Check out the official statement released by the band below:

We regret to announce that Night + Day Iceland will not be going ahead.

The location for the festival at Skógafoss has recently been added to the Environment Agency of Iceland’s list of endangered areas and there is simply not enough time for the promoters to ensure that the event will have no impact at all on the site. The promoters have been working non-stop to secure another location but regrettably there is nowhere suitable that can host the festival with such short notice. Full refunds including all booking fees will be issued to all ticket holders directly from the ticket agency with whom you purchased asap.

Please allow 5 working days for your refund.
